Embrace Change

Where is the bottom? Nobody knows. It goes without saying the industry has been turned on its head going back to at least September of last year. Many (read most) artists have been flocking to social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Flickr to market their skills and look for ways to parlay their way into a job. Freelancers have been particularly hit hard. With belt tightening so went most of the freelance jobs. As budgets continue to shrink studios are using in-house talent for all the tasks at hand.

The perfect portfolio

When you present your demo reel or portfolio to prospective clients, you have to remember it’s not just about proving you can do the work, but instead it is about how spectacularly you perform your duties.
